OUR CHOICE OF GENRE WAS PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER, LOOKING BACK AT OUR YOUGOV WORK WHEN RESEARCHING TARGET AUDIENCE; OUR TARGET AUDIENCE WAS MALES AND FEMALES AGED 22-36. THIS IS A POPULAR GENRE FOR THAT AGE RANGE AS A YOUNGER AUDIENCE MAY NOT UNDERSTAND THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECT OF THE FILM. THIS IS A POPULAR GENRE FOR THRILL-SEEKERS OR PEOPLE WHO ENJOYING BEING SCARED, WHO ARE USUALLY AROUND 40 AND UNDER. WE USED URBAN LOCATIONS AS WELL AS THE PROTAGONISTS HOME. THE URBAN LOCATIONS SET THE SCENE PERFECTLY FOR A PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER; THIS APPEALED TO OUR TARGET AUDIENCE AS THE LOCATIONS ARE NOT TOO EXTRAVAGANT TO NOT BE REALISTIC, BUT THEY'RE STILL EERIE AND CREATE A TENSE ATMOSPHERE. OUR PROTAGONIST IS OF A YOUNGER AGE AND THEREFORE MORE SUITABLE FOR OUR AUDIENCE AS THEY MAY BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES WITH ASPECTS OF HER LIFE - MAKING THEM FEEL MORE INVOLVED AND ENGAGED. FOR EXAMPLE, IF WE HAD A PROTAGONIST OVER THE AGE OF 50; IT MAY NOT BE AS CAPTIVATING TOWARDS OUR TARGET AUDIENCE OF 22-36 YEARS OF AGE. THE USE OF SOUND IN OUR OPENING SEQUENCE PLAYED A BIT PART IN ENTICING THE AUDIENCE. THE DRONE CREATES AN AIR OF SUSPENSE WHILST CONSTANTLY BUILDING UP TENSION; THIS IS A VERY COMMON FEATURE OF FILMS OF OUR GENRE. WE USED A MIX OF DIEGETIC AND NON DIEGETIC SOUND IN ORDER TO BUILD A SENSE OF APPREHENSION, WHILST ALSO ENHANCING THE REALISM OF THE OPENING SEQUENCE. WE LAYERED SOUND EFFECTIVELY IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO DULL MOMENT.
